The City of Cape Town’s Metropolitan Police Department invites you to
partner with us in drafting our Annual Police Plan for the period from
July 2020 to June 2021.

The Annual Police Plan will focus on the Department’s three legislative mandates, namely traffic enforcement, by-law enforcement and crime prevention with an emphasis on combatting the following:
• Gang-related activities
• Contraventions of the Arms and Ammunitions Act, Act 75 of 1969
• Alcohol- and drug-related offences
• Crimes against women and children
• By-law offences including illegal dumping
• Moving violations and vehicle defects

We will also continue to enhance our social crime prevention and technological initiatives such as:
• Youth cadet programmes
• Youth camp programmes
• Neighbourhood safety teams programme
• Closed circuit television monitoring and response
• Implementation of Emergency Police Incident Control (EPIC)

A workshop with the following roleplayers will be held in April 2020.
• The South African Police Services
• Community Police forums
• Internal City of Cape Town departments

Additional information (i.e. location and agenda) will be sent to the above roleplayers in due course.

The City’s Public Participation Unit will assist people who cannot read or write, people living with disabilities and people from disadvantaged groups who are unable to submit written comments to have their objections recorded and submitted to the City.
